Oakdale Elementary Collecting Toys to Support Students & Families
This holiday season, Oakdale Elementary School is excited to host a schoolwide Christmas Toy Drive benefiting all 294 of its students. It was made possible through the leadership of its dedicated team and the generosity of its valued community partners, Hunt Refinery, Poppin Sisters, Mind Changers, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated – Delta Phi Lambda Chapter.
“In addition to providing gifts for every student, we also want to extend support to some of our Oakdale families who may need Christmas assistance for their children,” said Kiera Ezell, Oakdale Elementary School Principal. “Our goal is to ensure that as many children in our school community receive the joy and warmth of the season.”

The school is welcoming new, unwrapped toys for boys and girls in PreK through 5th grade, including age-appropriate items such as STEM kits, dolls, sports equipment, books, puzzles, and creative play sets.
If you would like to donate, toys can be dropped off directly at Oakdale Elementary School by Monday, December 12. They will present the toys to each child before the holiday break, as “each child will walk into a beautifully decorated room filled with donated gifts and select the toy that speaks to them,” the press release said.
Ezell said that the “toy drive is more than a holiday gesture. It is an opportunity to ensure every child at Oakdale feels seen, valued, and celebrated during a season centered on love and generosity.
“For many families, this time of year can bring financial strain, and providing a gift through our school ensures that every student experiences the joy of receiving something special without burdening parents who may already be navigating challenges.”
If you have any questions about donating toys, contact the school front office at 205-759-3626 for drop-off information.
