Unhealthy sleep can be very bad for your heart and is linked to other health problems.

Adam Knowlden is an Associate Professor of Health Science and is conducting an important sleep study, in conjunction with the University Of Alabama.

The program is called SLUMBRx and all information they collect is geared towards understanding how sleep and body weight impact health problems.

The program is actively looking for volunteers for the study and those that are selected will be paid $200 for their time during the study.

The lab part of the study will be done in the state-of-the-art Kinesiology Research Laboratory at the University Of Alabama.

In addition, volunteers will also be asked to take part in a home-based part of the sleep study. The home-based study lasts for a week and involves questionnaires, activity monitors, and an overnight home sleep test.

Adam Knowlden hopes the study will help his research team better understand the way that sleep can impact diseases, such as diabetes.

If you would like to participate, please go to the UA sleep study website for all the information.
