Be Sure to Experience the Tuscaloosa Heritage Festival This Sunday
West Alabama Multicultural Alliance, Inc. (WAMA) is a “501 (c) (3) non-profit organization created to acknowledge the richly diverse cultural heritage of people of color throughout West Alabama.”
The organization aims to foster a community that honors and values individuals from all ethnicities, recognizing their distinct heritage and their significant contributions in West Alabama.
Sunday, April 7 is their 7th Annual Tuscaloosa Heritage Festival in partnership with Tuscaloosa Sister Cities International and the Tuscaloosa Civil Rights Foundation. The festival will be held at the Tuscaloosa River Market from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and admission is free.

What to Expect
According to the press release, “WAMA Fest is a cultural celebration that features live music, dance, and various cuisines from different cultures and has been a community delight. The festival celebrates the African America, Latino/Hispanic, Native American communities, and cultures, along with our three Tuscaloosa Sister Cities: Narashino, Japan; Schorndorf, Germany; and Sunyani-Techiman, Ghana.”
“The festival has grown and evolved with a focus on different aspects of Tuscaloosa's ethnic heritage,” said the press release.
