Tuscaloosa, AL - As Alabama prepared for a 63-0 win over Western Kentucky, tragedy struck the offensive line before they even took a snap when Kadyn Proctor left the field with a trainer. When the Crimson Tide emerged from the tunnel for the game, Proctor was in street clothes with his arm in a sling.

Elijah Pritchett was forced into action at a position he had not fully practiced at since Spring football - left tackle. It wasn't his best game, but he improved as the game went along.

Kalen DeBoer provided an update on Proctor's injury this week, calling it a "day-to-day" rather than a "week-to-week" injury. Even still, Proctor's status for USF is doubtful.

With the struggles from Pritchett last week, Alabama is electing to try a new rotation along the offensive line.

According to pictures earlier in the week released by UA Athletics, and according to pregame warmups, Tyler Booker is set to play at left tackle for Alabama against USF.

Booker is typically the starting left guard, but with the lack of experience along the reserves on the offensive line, Alabama decided to see how he looks at left tackle.

The Crimson Tide feels comfortable with the move thanks to veteran guard Geno VanDeMark transferring in from Michigan State in the Spring Transfer Window.

VanDeMark started eight games along with 18 appearances at guard for Michigan State over two seasons. He could provide a veteran presence for the Crimson Tide along the interior offensive line should Alabama decide Booker is a viable option at left tackle.

There is still no timetable for Proctor's return to action. Proctor started all 14 games at left tackle for Alabama last season before spending spring football at Iowa. He re-earned his starting left tackle spot during Fall Camp prior to his pregame injury on August 31.

Here is what a potential starting offensive line could look like with Booker at left tackle:

LT: Tyler Booker
LG: Geno VanDeMark
C: Parker Brailsford
RG: Jaeden Roberts
RT: Wilkin Formby
