The Alabama Crimson Tide is still the regular season champions despite performing poorly in College Station on Saturday afternoon. The No. 2 ranked Crimson Tide fell to the No. 24 Texas A&M Aggies 67-61 in the regular season finale after its abysmal 3-point shooting woes continued.

Alabama went 2-of-19 from beyond the arc in the first half and found themselves facing a 10-point deficit at halftime. The Tide closed the gap and even took the lead with just under five minutes remaining, converting 5-of-17 from the 3-point line, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Aggies and its sold out arena.

The Tide committed 10 turnovers and only shot 20% from the floor in the first-half, netting Alabama just 22 points, its lowest first half scoring effort of the season.

"We've got a tough, resilient group that even when they get down that we can still get it back together. I don't think we're aggressive enough on offense, we're turning the ball over too much, early. If I had the exact answer I'd try to fix it. I'm not sure, but we're going to talk about it. The coaching staff's gotta do a better job getting our guys ready to play out of the gate too. Sometimes they settle in and start to play better through the game," said Alabama head coach Nate Oats.

We've got to figure out a way to get them more prepared at the beginning. We've been struggling on both sides, offensively it's been a major problem. The last two games we've had two and three points at the first media timeout, which is not how we want to be playing. So, we've got to do a better job prepping them with how to attack what they're going to do defensively throughout the game."

The shooting percentages picked up in the second half but Alabama didn't do too much better taking care of the basketball, committing eight for a total of 18 on the day.

Freshman sensation Brandon Miller was once again special, despite a sub-par shooting effort. He scored 19-points on 7-of-23 from the floor and hauled in 10 rebounds, however he picked up his fifth foul with two minutes remaining in the game and the Tide was left to fend without him.

Jahvon Quinerly did his best to keep Alabama in the game, scoring 10 of his 12 points in the second half and converting on 2-of-5 from beyond the arc, however he wasn't immune from the turnovers as he gave the ball away four times with just three assists.

"I thought Quinerly really got us going there in the second half, when we got some stops, we were able to get out in transition. If you're not going against the press the entire time, I think you're better off. The turnovers killed us and they were bad. Some of them were just not real smart plays" said  Oats.

The Crimson Tide finishes its historic regular season 26-5 and with a conference record of 16-2. Alabama will enter the SEC Tournament next week with the No. 1 overall seed and will play its first game on Friday at Noon CT.
