Shaun Dion Hamilton to Take On Coaching Role in Mobile
The Draft starts in Mobile. That's how the saying goes down in lower Alabama as the annual Senior Bowl typically kicks off the NFL Draft season with prospects hoping to impress future employers.
The Alabama Crimson Tide program currently has five players scheduled to go to Mobile and showcase their talent for scouts, but Alabama fans will also see another familiar face trying to prove himself in Hancock Whitney Stadium.
Former Crimson Tide linebacker Shaun Dion Hamilton has accepted an invitation to serve as a defensive backs coach at the Senior Bowl.
Hamilton had been a linebacker for the Washington Commanders and the Detroit Lions since 2018, but was cut by the Lions at the end of training camp this past season. Detroit head coach Dan Campbell invited Dion Hamilton to stay in the Motor City and join the coaching staff, he accepted and helped the Lions to a 9-8 record this season.
The Reese's Senior Bowl will be held Saturday, Feb. 4 at 1:30 p.m. CT in Mobile, AL. The Crimson Tide players scheduled to compete are DJ Dale, Byron Young, Henry To'o To'o, Emil Ekiyor and Tyler Steen.
