SEC Standings in Week Six
We're entering the midseason point of the college football season, and the SEC standings are beginning to take shape as every team is now in SEC play. Take a look at the week six SEC standings!
1 - Texas A&M Aggies
The Aggies currently lead the SEC following a 21-17 win over the Razorbacks in Jerry World in Arlington, Texas. Texas A&M has a tough game this week, welcoming the No. 9 Missouri Tigers to College Station.
2 - Alabama Crimson Tide
Alabama made a statement with a 41-34 victory over the Georgia Bulldogs at home last Saturday. The Crimson Tide is 1-0 in the SEC under Kalen DeBoer and will have their first road game of the DeBoer era as they travel to Nashville for a road game with Vanderbilt.
3 - LSU Tigers
The Tigers smoked South Alabama in the "Mardi Gras Bowl" 42-10 at home. LSU is on a bye week for October 5 before a top-15 showdown with Ole Miss in Death Valley on October 12.
4 - Missouri Tigers
The Tigers were on a bye week in week five, but they survived an overtime upset attempt by the Vanderbilt Commodores in week four. Missouri will look to re-establish their dominance as a top-10 team this week on the road at Texas A&M.
5 - Tennessee Volunteers
The Volunteers are 4-0 and 1-0 in SEC play after welcoming the Sooners to the SEC with a 25-15 victory. Following a bye in week five, the Volunteers will hit the road to Fayetteville, Arkansas for an October 5 date with the Razorbacks.
6 - Texas Longhorns
The Longhorns earned their first SEC win by trouncing Mississippi State 35-13 at home. The Longhorns are on a bye week this week for October 5 but are slated to take on rival Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas on October 12.
7 - Arkansas Razorbacks
Arkansas suffered a setback against Texas A&M on Saturday, losing 21-17. The Razorbacks' schedule won't get any easier, as they are hosting the Tennessee Volunteers this Saturday.
8 - Florida Gators
The Gators earned a big SEC win on the road two weeks ago, defeating Mississippi State 45-28 on September 21. The Gators have a non-conference matchup this Saturday in a battle for Central Florida, hosting UCF.
9 - Georgia Bulldogs
The Bulldogs fell to the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa 41-34 in the last weekend of September. Georgia will host Auburn in a "get right" game for the Bulldogs on October 5.
10 - Oklahoma Sooners
The Sooners earned their first SEC win on the road against the Auburn Tigers 27-21. Oklahoma is on a bye week on October 5 before the Red River Rivalry with Texas in the Cotton Bowl on October 12.
11 - South Carolina Gamecocks
The Gamecocks were on a bye following a 50-7 victory in a "get-right" game against Akron. The Gamecocks will look to hand Ole Miss their second straight loss this Saturday, hosting the Rebels in Columbia.
12 - Kentucky Wildcats
Kentucky earned their first SEC win of the season, upsetting then-No. 7 Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi, 20-17. Kentucky gets an extra week to celebrate the victory before hosting Vanderbilt in Lexington on October 12.
13 - Ole Miss Rebels
The Rebels suffered an unexpected setback, losing to Kentucky at home 20-17. Ole Miss will look to rebound against South Carolina on October 5 before a rivalry game at LSU on October 12.
14 - Vanderbilt Commodores
Vanderbilt had a bye week to recover from an overtime, heartbreaking loss on the road at Missouri 30-27. The Commodores will face their toughest challenge of the season, hosting the Top-ranked Crimson Tide on October 5.
15 - Auburn Tigers
The Auburn Tigers season has not started the way they hoped, losing their second straight SEC home game, this one to Oklahoma, 27-21. The Tigers' schedule doesn't get easier, traveling to Athens, Georgia to take on an irate Georgia Bulldogs team.
16 - Mississippi State Bulldogs
The Bulldogs' season has gotten to a rough start. Mississippi State lost to Texas in the Longhorns' first SEC game, 35-13. Mississippi State will get an extra week to prepare for the Georgia Bulldogs, with a date in Athens, Georgia scheduled for October 12.
If the season ended today, the SEC Championship would be Texas A&M vs. Alabama. Texas A&M would be the home team.
