Only Two Tide Players Scrimmaging at NBA Combine
The NBA Combine starts this week, and with it, three former Alabama basketball stars will continue moving toward their dreams of playing in the NBA.

Alabama has three players participating in the NBA Combine: Mark Sears, Grant Nelson, and Labaron Philon. However, only Sears and Nelson will scrimmage at the combine, according to Jonathan Givony on X.
Grant Nelson will be on "Team Williams," playing with college basketball stars such as Milos Uzman from Houston and Tamar Bates from Missouri.
Mark Sears will be on "Team Mueller," playing alongside stars like Koby Brea from Kentucky and PJ Haggerty from Memphis.
ESPN's top-100 list of players ranks Philon as the 43rd-best player in the draft. He's the highest-ranked Alabama player in the 2025 NBA draft.
Last season for Alabama, Philon started 29 games, scoring 10.6 points per game while averaging 3.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. He shot 45.2 percent from the floor and 31.5 percent from three-point range.
Philon recently opened up about his draft process and said while he loves Alabama, he is "100% focused" on the draft. However, "Things can change," according to Philon.
Alabama head coach Nate Oats also spoke last week about Philon's draft status, saying they were receiving "great feedback" from the NBA. Oats thinks Philon ends up getting drafted.
If Philon does decide to return to Alabama, he has until May 28 to withdraw his name from the NBA draft, assuming he hired an NCAA-certified agent. if he didn't, then regardless of whether or not he is drafted, Philon will be moving on from Alabama.
Could Philon's latest move at the NBA combine indicate a potential return to Alabama?
