Alabama Men's Basketball was voted No. 2 in the country in the preseason AP Poll, the highest preseason ranking in program history. The Crimson Tide will rely on several leaders, including one of the top returning players, Latrell Wrightsell Jr.

Wrightsell averaged 8.9 points per game for Alabama last season, shooting 44.7% from three for Alabama. Injuries de-railed what looked to be a promising second half of the season for Wrightsell, but his contributions were instrumental for Alabama's positioning last season. Wrightsell returned to Alabama for his second season in Tuscaloosa, and fifth overall in college basketball.

Wrightsell spent Tuesday in Mountain Brook, Alabama at SEC Media Days, joined by Alabama's leading scorer last season, Mark Sears, and head coach Nate Oats.

Wrightsell spoke about the expectations for Alabama basketball this season, "We're trying to win four championships. The Players Era, the SEC regular season, the SEC Tournament, and the national championship. Those are the expectations."

High expectations for Alabama this season, but the Crimson Tide is, on paper, arguably the best roster in the country.

despite making the Final Four, Alabama's defense ranked 111th in the country last season. Alabama hired Detroit Pistons analyst Brian Adams to help bolster its defense. How has Adams changed Alabama's defense?

"Super intense. That’s one thing he’s changed with us," Wrightsell said. "Normally we’re looked at as just fast-paced offense or whatever. … He’s switching our mindset to where it’s not about scoring, it’s about getting stops and winning.”

Who knows how to win championships better than former Alabama Football head coach, Nick Saban? Wrightsell said Saban recently spoke to the Crimson Tide's basketball team,

"It’s super cool to hear him talk because he’s a legend," Wrightsell said. "Just understanding how to win and what to do to win National Championships like he has done. We're all listening, we're all tuned in."

Alabama Men's Basketball will officially start its season on Nov. 4 at home against UNC-Asheville.
