The Tide wrapped up their first week of the Kalen DeBoer era with a commanding 63-0 victory over Western Kentucky. However, with success can come unexpected injuries.

During DeBoer’s press conference on Aug. 26, he confirmed that running back Jam Miller and right guard Jaeden Robert’s would be active for practice and the season opener, while linebacker Jeremiah Alexander was not expected to return.

As anticipated, both Miller and Roberts played significant roles in the matchup against Western Kentucky. Miller showcased his speed and agility, contributing to the Tide’s fourth touchdown early in the second quarter.

Meanwhile, Roberts made his presence felt, teaming up with right tackle Wilkin Formby to create a crucial opening for running back Justice Haynes, who sprinted 85-yards for the Tide’s fifth touchdown later in the second quarter.

Despite the strong performances from these players, fans were concerned when left tackle Kadyn Proctor sustained an injury during warmups. He was later seen on the sidelines with his left arm in a sling, ruling him out for the entire game.

Details regarding his injury have not yet been released, but more information is expected in the coming week according to DeBoer. For the latest news and updates on the Tide, keep up with Tide 100.9.
