Four Star Derick Smith Flips Commitment to Auburn
Negative recruiting news has hit the University of Alabama once again, with the second commitment flipping from Alabama after a big recruiting weekend across the state.
Four-Star ATH Derick Smith flipped his commitment to the Auburn Tigers according to Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports. Smith is currently ranked No. 2 ATH in the nation and No. 7 ATH in the state of Alabama according to On3.
Smith, a native of Selma, Alabama committed to Alabama back in March of this year. Smith's offers included Georgia, Ole Miss, LSU, and others.
During his junior year for Southside, Derick Smith took snaps primarily at running back and safety but saw some action at quarterback and linebacker.
Derick Smith racked up 2,523 yards of offense, 23 total touchdowns, and recorded 74 tackles with 11 sacks on defense.
Following "Big Cat Weekend", another commitment flipped to another school. Four-star defensive lineman Antonio Coleman flipped his commitment from Alabama to Auburn.
