The boxing world is nothing, if not interesting. The heavyweight division is at a standstill as each of its major contenders exchange social media barbs without ever signing a contract to fight.

Oleksandr Usyk is currently the heavyweight champion in three of the four major boxing organizations, with Tyson Fury claiming the remaining belt. Add former champions Anthony Joshua and Tuscaloosa native Deontay Wilder into the discussion and you've got four of the heaviest hitters in the sport.

What happens when you add a former UFC heavyweight champion looking for a big payday into the mix? Chaos.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou was just released from his UFC contract due to disputes with president Dana White. One of the sticking points between Ngannou and White was the African's ability to seek high value boxing matches outside the octogon.

Ngannou and Fury have been flirting back and forth on social media over the last year with an eye on cashing in on a massive payday. Now that the former champion is a free agent he can step inside the squared circle against the opponent of his choice.

Only three men have beaten Ngannou in his mixed martial arts career, and he is riding a six-fight winning streak. He calls out Fury, Joshua and Wilder in his tweet, leaving fighting fans everywhere to wonder what those blockbuster matchups might look like.

Wilder and Fury already had a three-fight trilogy where the Bronze Bomber came up short. The Tuscaloosa native got back in the win column by defeating Robert Helenius by first round TKO in October.

Fury seems to hold all the cards as he is in a state of pseudo-retirement but a matchup with Ngannou could earn the mma-veteran and his opponent life-changing money.
