Former Bama Quarterback Jalen Hurts Announces Engagement

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Former Alabama quarterback and current Philadelphia Eagles star Jalen Hurts is officially off the market, as ESSENCE exclusively confirms his engagement to longtime partner Bry Burrows. The couple shared exclusive images from the proposal, showcasing a romantic setting with a violinist, candles, and red roses.

Hurts and Burrows met while studying at the University of Alabama. Burrows, an AI partner for IBM and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and Hurts, then the school’s star quarterback and a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., have dated on and off since their college days. They went public with their relationship in 2023 and have been seen together at significant events, including the NFC Championship celebration and the Time100 Next Gala in October 2023.

The engagement marks a new chapter in their journey, blending their shared history at Alabama and their present lives in the spotlight.
