The Crimson Tide will enter year three under head coach Kalen DeBoer, who finished 9-4 in his first season with Alabama with a loss in the Reliaquest Bowl to Michigan. In year two, Alabama went 10-2 in the regular season, clinching a spot in the SEC championship. The Tide's 10-2 regular season was enough for the playoff selection committee to put Alabama in the College Football Playoff in DeBoer's second season in Tuscaloosa.

Alabama's 2026 schedule will start at home and feature the earliest SEC game on the Crimson Tide's schedule since Nick Saban's first season in 2007, with a week two trip to Lexington, Kentucky, for a date with the Wildcats.
