The National Weather Service in Birmingham has predicted weather today to be "mostly cloudy." Rain and thunderstorms are also possible in the afternoon.

As for temperature, NWS in Birmingham reported that daytime high temperatures will range "from the middle 80s far north to the lower 90s elsewhere."

The NWS has also announced that Idalia has "strengthened into a hurricane" and entered into the southeastern Gulf of Mexico.

Impacts of Idalia are expected to be "on the lower end," with the NWS in Birmingham predicting "increased rain chances and breezy conditions by Wednesday across southeastern counties."

James Spann reported via Facebook that the air over Alabama will be "very humid." He also spoke on the possibility of rain: "The chance of any one spot getting wet today is 40/50 percent," Spann said. "The sky will be occasionally cloudy..."
