Hooligans Restaurant will open its third location in Tuscaloosa this February.

The new eatery will be in the building that used to house the Pizza Hut on 15th Street just past Hackberry Road. According to owner Abdulla Alhaija, the space will offer Hooligans a bigger building in which to operate, more parking and a drive-thru.

"[With] the construction and road work in Tuscaloosa, people are more geared towards 15th Street rather than University [Boulevard]," Alhaija said. "An opportunity just presented itself to us and with COVID-19 and everything, a pick-up window would be a tremendous help in case of a closedown."

The restaurant first came to Tuscaloosa back in October 1998 and its Mediterranean menu, massive loaded spuds and seriously underrated burgers have made it a mainstay in downtown Tuscaloosa in the two decades.

In June 2014, Hooligans opened a second location in the Market Place shopping center on Hargrove Road, but that restaurant closed and the team set up shop across the Black Warrior River in north Tuscaloosa instead.
