Hold That Tiger: Auburn Quarterback Arrested
Auburn University quarterback T.J. Finley was taken into custody at the Lee County Detention Facility on the eve of fall camp starting on Friday. He was held on a charge of Attempt to Elude with the Auburn Police Department according to WRBL.
Finley is about to embark on a quarterback competition with incoming Texas A&M transfer Zach Calzada.
The 2020 LSU quarterback appeared in nine games in 2021 for the Auburn Tigers under first year head coach Bryan Harsin. He completed 54.7% of his passes for 827 yards with six touchdowns and just one interception. The Tigers were 4-5 in games in which Finley appeared in 2021.
The Ponchatoula, LA., native signed am NIL deal with Amazon this past Friday, becoming the first college football player to sign with the online retail giant. Finley has 26 items of merchandise on Amazon to purchase.
Harsin spoke to the media on Thursday to open fall camp and said, "he'll be here tonight, he'll practice tomorrow. So we're aware of what's going on."
