Most of Tuscaloosa's iconic restaurants will be closed Thursday for Thanksgiving, but families and residents who don't want to deal with the hassle of preparing their own holiday feasts do have some local options to sit down for a meal or carry one back home.

Thanks to the good folks at Tuscaloosa Tourism and Sports, you don't have to spend all day calling around to see who's open and who's closed Thursday -- the organization has launched a live webpage updated in real-time with the latest information about what area restaurants are set to serve food on Thanksgiving.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the list included Cracker Barrel, Innisfree, Legends Bistro at Hotel Capstone, the Lookout Rooftop Bar at Hotel Indigo, Metro Diner, the R. Davidson Chophouse, Side-by-Side, The Juicy Crab and Wing Stop.

Dozens of other local restaurants have confirmed that they'll be closed, and a few have yet to announce their Thursday plans.

The most sensible option Thursday is likely to be Chuck's Fish, where staff is preparing to host their 10th Annual Thanksgiving Feast by offering traditional Thanksgiving meals packaged to-go and absolutely free of charge. The restaurant will be accepting donations, though, and 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity Tuscaloosa and their continuing mission to provide housing to those who need it most in the Druid City.

Watch out for traffic in the area, though -- Townsquare Media's Ray Allen has confirmed that one lane of Greensboro Avenue will be closed Thursday to facilitate drive-thru pick up of the Thanksgiving meals.
