Harold “Randy” McCracken (October 23rd, 1944 – August 12th, 2026)

Harold "Randy" McCracken, 81, of Ralph, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Hospice of West Alabama.

Services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church with Bro. David McCracken and Bro. Dan Arsenault officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold T. and Mildred H. McCracken.

Survivors include his wife, Frieda Banks McCracken; daughter Shelley Merriam (Michael); son Marc McCracken (Mindy); sister Mary E. Mosley; brothers Mahlon McCracken (Cheryl), Dan McCracken (Ann), Mike McCracken and Gary McCracken (Brenda); grandchildren Mallory Merriam, Clay Merriam, Ann-Michael McCracken and Cohen McCracken; brother-in-law James D. Banks (Brenda); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Randy believed in the values of honesty and hard work. As an active deacon and Sunday School teacher, he relished the role of being a mentor to young adults. He had a strong desire to study and memorize Bible scriptures.

In addition to this, Randy loved being outside and especially enjoyed gardening and fishing. He never passed up the chance to turn the smallest task into a teachable moment.

For those of us fortunate enough to earn the nickname of "shug" or "baby," we appreciated his lessons and valued his love for us.

Pallbearers will be Matthew McCracken, Michael McCracken, Nick Reid, Luke Reid, Joshua Lancaster and Mark Lamb.

Honorary pallbearers will be the staff and employees of ST Bunn Construction, members of Shiloh Baptist Church, Joe Mize, and the staff and nurses at Hospice of West Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or Hospice of West Alabama.
