A nonprofit organization focused on enhancing athletics and recreational opportunities for those with disabilities will host its annual Ale on Wheels fundraiser in north Tuscaloosa on Friday.

The Hank Poore Foundation was founded five years ago to support individuals in West Alabama with special needs, providing them with gear like beach-ready wheelchairs and adaptive bikes to enable experiences they might otherwise miss.

Their annual fundraiser, Ale on Wheels, brings great food, exclusive beer, and live music to the Buddy Powell Pavilion on Northridge Road in Tuscaloosa each year.

This year's event is planned for Friday night from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will feature live music from Tuscaloosa’s Southbound Revelers and The Locals as well as Huntsville’s JUICE Band.

Some of West Alabama's favorite food trucks are on board to work the event, including Catch A Taste, The Corn King, Pastor’s, Sage & Honey Coffee, and Moonshot Creamery.

Organizers also said Tuscaloosa's own Black Warrior Brewing will be serving up a special Ale On Wheels Toffee Pecan Brown Ale limited brew, along with a few more of their classics. Wine and Pepsi products will also be available.

The family-friendly fun kicks off at five o'clock on Friday, featuring surprises that mark the fifth anniversary of Ale of Wheels and its impact on the Foundation and the people they serve.

Tickets are available through Zeffy at the link on the Foundation's website or through their pages on social media.
