Information is still sketchy at this time, but the Hale County Sheriff's Office has announced an arrest in the fatal weekend shooting 24-year-old Librian Jones, Jr. of Greensboro.

Jones was attending a "Class Day Out" Event in the community of Sawyerville when 23-year-old Kadarrell Winn of Sawyerville is accused of opening fire, striking and killing Jones. Sheriff Michael Hamilton reported no other person attending the event was struck by a bullet.

Winn was taken into custody with assistance from the Reform Police Department, Pickesn County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Marshal's Task Force at his girlfriend's house in the West Pickens County city of Reform. He has been charged with murder according to Sheriff Hamilton. The Sheriff has said more information on the case will be released later.

Authorities confirmed over this past weekend that the fatal shooting took place about 7:30 p.m. Saturday, during the gathering directly behind the Sawyerville Convenience Store and Gas station located in a rural area on Alabama Highway 14, just northwest of Greensboro on the road to Eutaw in Greene County. The site is frequently used as a gathering place for residents of the surrounding area.

The ALEA State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) is now leading the investigation according to the sheriff. Anyone with information is asked to call Capt. Nelson at the Hale County Sheriff’s Office at (334) 624-3081.
