Gordo Woman Killed in Multi-Car Crash on Highway 82 Wednesday
A Gordo woman was killed Wednesday afternoon in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 82 in Pickens County, Alabama State Troopers report.
Corporal Reginal King, a spokesperson the Troopers in west Alabama, said 63-year-old Barbara A. McDaniel of Gordo, Alabama was driving a 2005 Honda Accord that collided head-on with a 2014 Nissan Rogue.
King said McDaniel was killed in the accident and pronounced dead at the scene, and the other driver, an Ethelsville woman, was airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.
Their crash also left significant debris on the roadway, and King said a Berry man in a 2015 Land Rover struck the wreckage and suffered damage.
The Troopers say the crash happened on U.S. Highway 82 near mile marker 28 about four miles east of Gordo.
No other details were available Friday morning as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
