Defending Luxembourgian League champion Amicale Steinsel has announced it has added former Crimson Tide forward Alex Reese to its roster for the 2022-23 season.

Reese was supposed to play in Hungary in 2021-22 but that opportunity ultimately didn't come to fruition. His stint in Luxembourg will be his first foray as a professional after graduating from the University of Alabama in 2020.

Amicale Steinsel has won the Luxembourgian League nine times in its history including 2021-22.

Luxembourg is one of the smallest countries in Europe and is bordered by Belgium, Germany and France.

Reese will join a roster with two other American teammates. Jordan Dallas is a Center out of Weber State and Seattle University while Shawn Montague is a forward out of Southern New Hampshire University.

Reese was a four-year contributor for the Crimson Tide from 2017-20 out of Pelham High School. He finished his Alabama career appearing in 124 games with 36 starts while tallying 755 points, 412 rebounds and 65 blocked shots.

The former Alabama High School Athletics Association 6A Player of the Year helped the Crimson Tide achieve one of its best seasons ever in 2020 under head coach Nate Oats.

Reese, along with John Petty and Herb Jones led the Tide to an SEC regular season and tournament title and took Alabama into the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. The stretch forward nailed a 3-point shot against eventual Final Four participant UCLA in the Sweet 16 to send the contest into overtime.

Amicale Steinsel will open its new campaign on September 24 and will play all the way until early March.
