Flu Shots Available for Tuscaloosa City Schools Students

Tuscaloosa City Schools is providing flu shots this year for all in-person and virtual students on Nov. 4.

Health Heroes, a Community Immunizer, and its affiliates have provided over 500,00 vaccinations across multiple states and school systems since 2011.

In order for a child to register to receive the flu shot, they must first fill out an online registration form. A parent or guardian must also notify the child's school nurse of the immunization site the child intends on visiting.

Additionally, the child must present a completed and signed consent form at the time of immunization, which is available in both English and Spanish versions.

The deadline to register is Nov. 1. The immunizations will start at 8 a.m.

The immunization sites listed below will offer flu shots to both in-person and virtual students:

• Arcadia Elementary: 3740 Arcadia Drive, Tuscaloosa
• Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary: 2429 MLK Jr. Blvd, Tuscaloosa
• Rock Quarry Elementary: 2000 Rock Quarry Drive, Tuscaloosa
• The Alberta School of Performing Arts: 2700 University Blvd E
• University Place Elementary: 2000 St Ave
• Verner Elementary: 2701 Northridge Road
