Flipped Semitruck Closes Lanes of Interstate 20/59 in Tuscaloosa

Traffic is snarled on I-20/59 in Tuscaloosa County Friday night after a commercial vehicle overturned near Mercedes Benz U.S. International.

Corporal Reginal King, a spokesperson for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency State Troopers, said the single-vehicle crash involves an overturned commercial vehicle and happened around 5:30 p.m. Friday.

King said two southbound lanes of the interstate near mile marker 84 in Tuscaloosa County are currently closed while recovery operations are conducted.

ALEA and the Alabama Department of Transportation are on scene assisting with traffic control, but southbound has been hung up for hours traffic.

UPDATE: Trooper declared the roadway clear around 10:45 p.m.
