
Fire Department in Samantha, Alabama Thanks Community for Response Following Tragic Accident
The Samantha Fire Department is offering its sincere thanks to the community in the wake of a devastating wreck that killed a pregnant mother of four from Northport.
The head-on collision occurred shortly after 6 p.m. Monday, July 5, and many local residents immediately pitched in to assist first responders on the scene.

"While the members of the fire department were taking care of patients members of the community stepped up in a big way, they took it upon themselves to direct traffic, help with patients, and even bring coolers full of water," said Samantha Fire Department Chief Blake Cannon.
"We at Samantha are greatly appreciative and want to send out a big thank you. It makes us proud for the community we live in and serve," Cannon said.
The wreck claimed the life of 36-year-old Audra Rogers, a mother of four who was currently pregnant with her fifth child. Officer with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency continue to investigate the accident.
