A man is arrested after a drug and firearm bust in Fayette County this week.

According to a release from the District Attorney in the 24th Judicial Circuit of Alabama – which covers Fayette, Lamar and Pickens Counties – investigators obtained a warrant and called multiple agencies to a residence in the 200 block of 11th Street Southwest in Fayette, Alabama the morning of March 18.

After finding multiple quantities of illegal drugs and firearms, agents charged 25-year-old Steven Patrick Musgrove with a list of crimes attributed to the bust.

Musgrove is currently being held in the Fayette County Jail for the following charges:

  • trafficking methamphetamine
  • first-degree possession of marijuana
  • failure to affix a tax stamp
  • possession of drug paraphernalia
  • possession of a controlled substance
  • certain persons forbidden from possessing a firearm

According to the release, officers recovered "77 grams of methamphetamine, a quantity of marijuana, several firearms, cash and drug paraphernalia."

“This is an ongoing investigation. I anticipate more charges to come in the near future,” Andy Hamlin, the 24th Judicial Circuit District Attorney, said in the release.

Several agencies assisted in the arrest, including the Criminal Investigations Divisions from the 24th and 25th Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Offices, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, the Fayette Police Department, the Winfield Police Department, the Region E Alabama Drug Task Force.
