Fatal Wreck Closes I-359 North in Tuscaloosa Wednesday Morning

Police in Tuscaloosa are responding to a fatal accident on I-359 North Wednesday morning.

Stephanie Taylor, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Police Department, said officers were called to the scene around 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Taylor said a crash there has led to a fatality and northbound lanes of the interstate are closed while TPD's Traffic Homicide Unit investigates.

Motorists should seek an alternate route and expect delays in the area.

The accident is one of two major collisions in the area being worked Wednesday - a school bus was also struck on US 11 in Fosters Wednesday morning.
