Hogg had teased that the restaurant would be fast-casual and new-to-market for Tuscaloosa and Northport.
The restaurant, Teriyaki Madness, was born in Seattle and has expanded to more than 100 locations in 29 U.S. states.
The closest to our readership area is in Hoover, but Hogg said they will open a location near Northport City Hall in the next few months, if construction goes according to schedule, which is never guaranteed in 2023.
Offering a very simple menu that consists almost entirely of bowls of grilled meats and veggies over rice or noodles, Teriyaki Madness is not only new for the area, but Hogg said it provides a fresh, healthier option for patrons who live or work in Northport.
The franchise is one of the fast-growing in the country and added several dozen new locations in 2022.
