Fan-Favorite Cocktail at Session Returns to Benefit Tuscaloosa’s Hank Poore Foundation
A Tuscaloosa cocktail bar is bringing back a mixed drink this month that will benefit a local nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of people living with disabilities.
Throughout October, patrons at Session Cocktails can order 'The Hank,' which features Tito’s Handmade Vodka, lime, passion fruit, ginger, soda, and mint.
As part of the bar's Cocktail for a Cause initiative, a portion of proceeds from sales of the returning drink will benefit Tuscaloosa's Hank Poore Foundation, which was founded in 2020 and aims to create or enhance opportunities for people with disabilities. Bar patrons can also donate to the organization directly.
The foundation was inspired by and named after Hank Poore, a Tuscaloosa native with cerebral palsy, and some of their goals include providing avenues for adaptive water skiing and kayaking, making accessible hiking trails and more.
They are also seeking to provide funding for families to rent beach wheelchairs while vacationing.
"We are so excited to bring back the one, the only, The Hank!" Session's owner Hunter Wiggins said on social media. "Hank holds a special place with all of here at Session and we could not be more ready to feature this cocktail once again."
The cocktail is available all month at Session, which can be found at 2221 University Boulevard next to the Pants Store and Bistro 17.
