The Tuscaloosa Thread spoke with a general contractor on site who said construction started on the 15th of December and is expected to be complete sometime this week.

Ravis Ruffin, District Manager for Family Dollar, told The Thread that this project was coming together very quickly, and he was pleased with the work. Although Ruffin was not able to provide more information on when the retail store would be fully open and operational, he said customers shouldn't have to wait too long.

The project is another step in revitalizing District 7. following Tuscaloosa businessman Stan Pate's plans to renovate the old McFarland Mall into a sports mega-complex. A spokesperson with Family Dollar said this development would be a great new option for families shopping in Tuscaloosa.
