A West Alabama man was killed Sunday in a pre-dawn interstate crash in Greene County, State Troopers have reported.

Senior Trooper Vu Quang, a spokesperson for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, said the deadly accident happened at about 12:45 a.m. Sunday.

Quang said 30-year-old Demarcus K. Hayes was driving a 2019 Honda Accord on I-59 when he left the roadway and struck a utility pole about three miles west of Eutaw, where he was a resident.

Quang said Hayes was pronounced deceased at the scene near mile marker 40.

No other information was released Sunday evening.
