The event is today, February 1st, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., and will feature a variety of soups prepared by local chefs to sample.

Guests will also enjoy a silent auction and bid on items from West Alabama businesses and individuals.

Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased online or at the Rivermarket during the event today, and the funds benefit the Tuscaloosa Salvation Army's mission to provide food assistance and other services to those in need.

Attendees will also receive a handcrafted empty bowl, meant to represent the hunger faced by those in need in our community.
