Edna Ann Baker (July 23rd, 1942 – January 18th, 2023)

Edna Ann Baker, age 80, of Prattville passed away peacefully at home on January 18, 2023.

A visitation service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Magnolia Funeral Home South in Tuscaloosa.

Ann Baker was born on July 23, 1942, in Tuscaloosa County to the late James E. Jacobs and Earline Parker Melton.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents James E. Jacobs and mother Earline Melton.

Ann is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, George A. Baker Jr. Sisters; Judy Kelly, Shirley Wood, Ida Boyd (Earl), and Eunice Foster. Brothers; Clayton Parker, Jim Jacobs (Brenda), Clarence Jacobs, and Harold Jacobs (Susan). She is also survived by daughters; Anna Lancaster, Sherry Baker, and Sandra Plylar (Steve), sons; Ricky White, Doc Smith, Robert Smith, grandchildren; Marcus Lancaster, Megan Lancaster, Austin Campassi, Alex Lawrence, and Jonathon Church. Also surviving are seven great grandchildren and special family friend Joe Madison.

Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister. Ann's greatest passion in life was her family. She loved her children and grandchildren beyond what words can describe. On October 10, 2010 God gave Ann the most precious gift a mother can get, a great grandson, Jacob, that she would love, raise up, and adore. The last twelve years of her life she has raised and taken care of this gift from God. In addition to loving her family deeply, she loved to help other people. Especially any child. She would look for ways to help anyone in need. She had the most giving heart of anyone.
