Several school systems in our area are deciding to dismiss classes early or cancel all after-school activities as severe weather closes in on Monday.

The National Weather Service is predicting a slight risk of severe weather throughout central Alabama on Monday afternoon, with threats in our region beginning around 3 p.m. at the Mississippi border and lasting into the evening further south and east.

We will keep an updated list of schools in our coverage area that dismiss early or cancel activities on Monday - check back for additions to the list in real-time as they are announced.
