Nonstop Flights From Birmingham To Oklahoma City For Playoffs
Planning on heading to Norman, Oklahoma for the Crimson Tide's first round playoff game against the Sooners? Well, Southwest Airlines is going to give you more options, two more to be specific.
The low-cost national carrier is adding two temporary non-stop flights between Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International and Will Rogers International in Oklahoma City. These are time limited specific additions to help fans travel for Bama's rematch with Oklahoma next Friday, with flights running a little over two hours in duration.
There are two outbound and two return flight options:
Outbound to OKC:
• Dec 18 – 2:00pm → 4:05pm
• Dec 19 – 8:50am → 10:55am
Return to BHM:
• Dec 20 – 9:15am → 11:00am
• Dec 20 – 2:15pm → 3:55pm
Note that the return flights are both the day after the big game.
Southwest is the official airline of the Southeastern Conference but does not offer regularly scheduled service between the Magic City and OKC. Normally, passengers between the two cities must make a layover stop in Dallas.
The airline has added additional flights for all playoff games, including the January 1st Quarterfinal Playoff Game against Indiana at the Rose Bowl if the Tide beats Oklahoma. Departures for Los Angeles will be on New Year's Eve with return flights on January 2nd.
Southwest passengers should remember the airline offers up to two free checked bags per passenger.
If you fly out for the game, the long-range weather forecast for the Norman area calls for slightly warmer than normal temperatures with a small chance of precipitation.
