The Indianapolis International Airport announced Monday that Delta Air Lines has added three nonstop flights to the city ahead of the College Football National Playoff Championship next week.

The one-time service flights will take off from Birmingham, Huntsville and Savannah on January 8 - just in time for the weekend fan festivities in Indianapolis.

Returning flights are scheduled for January 11, following the game.

The Alabama Crimson Tide is set to square off against the Georgia Bulldogs on January 10 for the rematch of a century, after Bama upset the No. 1 at-the-time Bulldogs t win the SEC Championship 41-24.

“Delta literally has its eye on the ball with this one-time service opportunity for fans wanting to come join the excitement and fun rivalry in Indy that is sure to energize this much-hoped-for rematch of two titan college football teams,” said Indianapolis Airport Authority Executive Director Mario Rodriguez.

The Indy airport expects over 100,000 fans to swarm the city leading up to the highly anticipated game.
