Eastbound traffic on I-20/59 was snarled Tuesday afternoon after debris on the interstate punctured the tires of at least 11 vehicles outside Tuscaloosa, according to Alabama Law Enforcement State Troopers.

Townsquare Media's traffic reporter "Captain" Ray Allen said Troopers told him at least four units were on the scene trying to aid affected drivers and sort out what caused the catastrophe.

Major delays persisted around 6 p.m. Monday, particularly near Buttermilk Road outside Coaling.
