The DCH Health System is looking to hire more than 100 new employees, and qualified applicants can land massive signing bonuses for stepping into critically needed positions.

The System operates DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa as well as hospitals in Northport and Fayette, and is teaming up with West AlabamaWorks! for the virtual job fair, which kicks off next week.

"We are excited to partner with West AlabamaWorks! on this Virtual Recruitment Event. The pandemic has presented unique challenges for our community and health care across the nation. That’s why it’s so important to get the right people to provide quality patient care,” said Director of Employment and Workforce Development Kelly Nichols. “Whether you’re assisting patients at the bedside, ensuring they have their meals or providing a clean and healthy hospital environment, all positions are essential to DCH Health System operations. We hope to fill more than 100 positions and look forward to helping jobseekers begin a fulfilling career at DCH."

The weeklong hiring event begins next Wednesday and is aimed at filling immediate openings centered in patient care, nutritional services and environmental services. Applicants can earn signing bonuses up to $1,500 in those fields, according to a press release from West AlabamaWorks!

The biggest incentives, though, are reserved for registered nurses. The DCH System, like hospitals across the country, has struggled to recruit and retain full-time nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the release announcing the hiring event, RNs can earn signing bonuses up to $18,000 in specific units within the System.

“If you’re passionate about helping people and making a difference in their lives, working in healthcare can be one of the most rewarding career choices there is. Our hospital needs nurses and other healthcare workers. We are committed to recruiting a strong workforce for DCH,” said West AlabamaWorks! Executive Director Donny Jones.

When the event officially begins next Wednesday, interested applicants can find more information on DCH's Facebook page or by visiting westalabamajobs.com/DCH. Applicants can also call 205-735-9675 for more information on the opportunities available in the System.
