
Crash Has 20/59Northbound Closed
Headed to Birmingham or Hoover for dinner or Christmas shopping on I20/59? You think about diverting to U.S. 11. An overturned vehicle has traffic backed up for about as far as you can see.

The accident is at Mile Post 86.21 at Exit 86: Covered Bridge Rd in Coaling. According to the Alabama Department of transportation, all lanes are closed and it will be at least another 220 to 30 minutes before traffic will be able to move again.
UPDATE:
There are now two more crashes reported on I20/59 due to rain and backed up traffic from the overturned vehicle. This one is located at US11 SB @ MP 92.51 at Keenes Mill Rd in Coaling. This accident will not be cleared until at least 6:40pm.
A third crash is on US11 SB @ MP 89.8 before I-20/59 in Cottondale. Traffic is heavy on U.S. 11 because northbound traffic is being diverted there due to previous road blockages.
ALEA Troopers are urging motorists headed toward Birmingham to slow down and be ready for quick stops due to traffic backups.

Responders are now working a traffic crash on US82/McFarland Blvd EB @ MP 44.38 at Harper Rd in Northport. The cash blocking left and right lanes. Please use caution when traveling through this area.
UPDATE:
All southbound lanes on I20/59 at Mile Post 86 are blocked due to a multi-vehicle accident involving a commercial vehicle. The blockage will continue for an undetermined time according to ALEA Troopers.
UPDATE:
According to ALEA Troopers all accidents from earlier today have been cleared and travel lanes are now open.
