Tuscaloosa City Schools announced a change in plans for commencement ceremonies die to the threat of severe weather Friday, May 28.

Superintendent Dr. Mike Daria said the decision was made out of an abundance of caution and although the shift in times may be inconvenient, ensuring the safety of students and their families was of the utmost importance.

"We know that graduation is a huge milestone for our seniors," said Daria. “The time change offers TCS the best opportunity to graduate seniors on their original graduation date while family and friends are already in town.”

Graduation times for Friday are as follows:

  • Bryant High School: 9 a.m.
  • Central High School: 11:30 a.m.
  • Northridge High School: 1:30 p.m.

All ceremonies will be conducted at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater and admittance is limited to those with a wristband. Commencement excercises may also be viewed on the TCS Youtube channel.
