A CAPS board member told the Tuscaloosa Thread that C.A.P.S. intends to distribute up to 50 free turkeys, no strings attached, on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Anyone interested can pick up a voucher for a free bird at Al Freeman Park on Martin Luther King Boulevard next to Westlawn Middle School from 2-4 o'clock Monday afternoon.

According to their website, the purpose of Child Abuse Prevention Services of Tuscaloosa is to provide education and awareness programs for the prevention of child abuse and neglect. CAPS provides prevention and treatment education in an effort to break the cycle of child maltreatment so that children can have a healthy childhood.
