Gospel Station in Tuscaloosa Raises Almost 800 Pounds for Food Bank
A Thanksgiving donation drive hosted by a Tuscaloosa radio personality for almost 60 years returned last month and gave almost 800 pounds of goods to the West Alabama Food Bank.
Praise 93.3 WTSK and its morning show host Brother J have organized the drive every year since 1965, and each year, listeners turn out in force to provide for those who need it most.
This year, the donation drive brought in 776 pounds of food in November, filling four barrels for the food bank and adding to the untold thousands Brother J has raised and donated over six decades.
"We had a shorter than normal drive and belts are tight just about everywhere this year, but I am proud of and thankful for the listeners who showed up like they do every year and do for those who are unable to do for themselves."
The annual drive will return next year, and Brother J said he and the rest of the staff and WTSK are excited to see how much good can be done in the event's 60th year.
