Brookwood Man, Teen Girlfriend Charged with Shooting into Tuscaloosa Home Sunday Night
A Brookwood man and his girlfriend have been arrested and accused of shooting up her ex's house in Tuscaloosa Sunday night.
A number of Tuscaloosa Police Officers and investigators with the Violent Crimes Unit flooded Short 18th Street after shots rang out there a few minutes before 10 p.m. Sunday.
A man living in a house there said he was inside when he heard gunshots and saw bullets crash through the home leaving smoke and shrapnel. Fortunately, he was not hurt in the shooting.
In court documents filed Tuesday, investigators identified two suspects in the shooting, who are 24-year-old Antonio Tyrese Lucious and his girlfriend, a juvenile who cannot be identified because of state law.
After a lengthy investigation, VCU members believe the young woman once had a relationship with the intended target of the shooting. They accuse her of driving to the house on Short 18th Street, where Lucious allegedly got out of the vehicle and fired rounds into the side of the building.
Both Lucious and the juvenile female were arrested and charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling - the young woman is being charged as an adult but her name and mugshot cannot be published because of a juvenile confidentiality law the state adopted in 2021.
They are being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail with no bond until a judge's hearing.
