Man Found Dead at Tuscaloosa’s Monnish Park, Foul Play Not Suspected
Investigators do not suspect criminal activity after an adult man was found dead in a public park in central Tuscaloosa Monday morning.
Representatives for the Tuscaloosa Police Department and the multi-agency Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit confirmed a 57-year-old man was found unresponsive under a table in Monnish park Monday.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said there is no evidence of criminal activity and they are not likely to issue more information than that - the VCU generally does not comment on deaths without an element of foul play, and the Thread typically only covers situations with a public interest or in response to inquiries from readers.
Monnish Park is at the highly trafficked corner of 15th Street and Hackberry Lane next to Central High School and this report comes in answer to such questions.
