Free 3-Night Shakespeare Performance Coming to Kentuck at Queen City
Kentuck's new venue in Tuscaloosa will host a trio of free Shakespeare performances over the next three evenings, including two planned outdoor shows.
The Rude Mechanicals, the city's amateur troupe devoted to the Bard, will present "As You Like It" this Thursday, Friday and Saturday on the grounds of Kentuck at Queen City, their new space on this side of the river.
The performances begin at 8 p.m. each night and are free to attend and enjoy. The Rude Mechanicals describe the play as "Shakespeare's comedy of love at first sight, duels between wits and the witless, pastoral music, all the world as a stage, and more."
The Thursday performance will be inside the venue, and Friday and Saturday, weather permitting, the show will move outdoors into the old swimming pool area.
