After the departure of Alabama special teams coordinator and tight ends coach Jeff Banks for Texas, Saban has found his replacement in former Tennessee running back Jay Graham. Graham spent the last eight seasons coaching running backs and special teams at Florida State, Texas A&M and, most recently, Tennessee.

Graham is set takeover as tight ends coach and special teams coordinator, replacing Jeff Banks.  Graham's coaching career started as a graduate assistant in 2005 at Tennessee after a short stint in the NFL that saw him play for three teams in five seasons.

While most of Graham's coaching time has been spent with running backs, including over ten years of SEC experience, he has spent time as a tight ends coach. During his tenure at South Carolina, from 2009-2011, Graham spent one season as the Gamecocks' tight ends coach.

Known as an impressive recruiter, Graham was a crucial piece in landing both Marcus Lattimore at South Carolina and Cam Akers at Florida State. Graham will have his hands full with elite recruits at Alabama, including sophomore tight end Jahleel Billingsley who played extremely well towards the end of the 2020 season and looks poised for a breakout year.

With Alabama's coaching staff seemingly wrapped up, the preparation for next season can truly begin for the Tide.
