Alabama Soccer Makes History on Senior Night
No. 3 Alabama soccer knocked off the Florida Gators Sunday evening in a 2-0 victory to become the program's first SEC Regular Season Champion.
Alabama midfielder Kat Rogers scored the first goal of the night in the 26th minute.
Senior forward Riley Tanner drove in a long-range goal to put the Crimson Tide up 2-0 in the 48th minute.
Alabama senior goalkeeper McKinley Crone pitched her ninth shutout of the year on senior night.
A record-breaking 1,882 fans attended the monumental win, according to the Alabama soccer team's twitter.
The Alabama Soccer Stadium hit capacity and had to shut the gates. Entrance to the game followed a one-in one-out policy as fans lined the perimeter of the stadium.
Alabama travels to Auburn on Thursday to finish the regular season and will air on the SEC Network at 7:30 p.m.
The SEC Tournament begins on Halloween (Oct. 31) and concludes on Nov. 6 in Pensacola, FL.
