The Alabama baseball team defeated the Auburn Tigers 7-4 in the third round of the SEC Tournament on Thursday afternoon in an elimination game.

Tuscaloosa native Garrett McMillan started on the mound for the Crimson Tide. He pitched six innings, recording five hits, three runs, three earned runs, three walks, and eight strikeouts.

Alabama got in front first, putting one run on the board in the first inning off a solo home run by left fielder Tommy Seidl.

Auburn responded in the second inning, scoring one run off the bat of second baseman Brody Wortham, who hit an RBI single.

The Tide retook the lead in the third inning. Seidl got on base with a leadoff double, advanced to third on a fly out by right fielder Andrew Pinckney, and first baseman Drew Williamson brought him home on a sacrifice fly.

Alabama extended its lead in the fourth inning, scoring three runs on RBI singles. The first came from center fielder Caden Rose, the second came from Seidl, and the third came from Pinckney, giving the Tide the 5-1 lead.

The Tigers tacked on two more runs in the sixth inning. The first was from a solo home run by third baseman Bryson Ware and the second was designated hitter Ike Irish coming home on a wild pitch, cutting Auburn's deficit in half.

The Tide doubled its lead in the sixth inning. The first run was scored off a Pinckney sacrifice fly and the second was scored on an RBI single by Williamson.

Right-handed pitcher Hagan Banks came in for relief in the seventh inning. He pitched one inning, recording no hits, one walk, and one strikeout.

Right-handed pitcher Riley Quick came in for relief in the eighth inning. He pitched 1.1 innings, recording two hits, one run, one earned run, three walks, and three strikeouts.

Tigers shortstop Cole Foster added one more run to the board for Auburn, hitting an RBI single, but the comeback attempt was too little, too late.

Right-handed pitcher Hunter Hoopes closed out the game. He recorded one walk and was credited the save.
