Alabama Commit Has Big Night on Offense
Florida high school powerhouse IMG Academy is taking on Edgewater High School tonight at home. IMG has two Crimson Tide 2021 commits, JC Latham and Jacorey Brooks. Crimson Tide commit Christian Leary took the field for Edgewater but rather than play his traditional position of wide receiver, he played quarterback. Brooks hauled in a touchdown pass and another longer pass to set up the third Acenders score this evening from quarterback J.J. McCarthy.
IMG Academy Ascenders defeated the Edgewater Eagles tonight 48-7 to improve its record to 2-0 on the season. The Ascenders will travel to Brentwood, TN. to take on Ravenwood High School next week.
Sports Illustrated's John Garcia was at the game to keep up with all the players with college aspirations. Brooks entered the game with four receptions and 28 yards and a touchdown from the first game of the year.
Brooks is a five-star prospect out of Bradenton, FL. The 6-foot-3, 185 pound wide receiver was the second receiver to commit to the Tide in this 2021 cycle. He transferred to IMG Academy from Booker T. Washington High School.
Brooks is compared to current Denver Broncos receiver Courtland Sutton by 247Sports recruiting analyst Andrew Ivins. He is rated by 247Sports as the No. 2 overall wide receiver and the No. 6 overall recruit in the state of Florida.
